چکیده

This thesis is devoted to the study of the influence of a thin heterogeneous layer on the linear elastic behavior of a three-dimensional structure. Two types of heterogeneties are considered : cavities and elastic inclusions. For inclusions of high rigidty a further study was performed in the case of a heat conduction problem. A formal analysis using the matched asymptotic expansions method leads to an interface problem which characterizes the macroscopic behavior of the structure. The microscopic behavior of the layer is determined in a basic cell. The asymptotic model obtained is then implemented in a finite element software. A numerical study is used to validate the results of the asymptotic analysis.

Dynamics of elastic bodies connected by a thin soft inelastic layer

We extend the study [1] devoted to the dynamic response of a structure made of two linearly elastic bodies connected by a thin soft adhesive layer made of a Kelvin Voigt type nonlinear viscoelastic material to the case of a Generalized Standard Material with a positive definite quadratic density of free energy. A concise formulation in terms of an evolution equation in a Hilbert space of possib...

Equivalent Boundary Conditions for an Elasto-Acoustic Problem set in a Domain with a Thin Layer

In this paper we present equivalent conditions and asymptotic models for the diffraction problem of elasto-acoustic waves in a solid medium surrounded by a thin layer of fluid medium. This problem is well suited for the notion of equivalent conditions : since the thickness of the layer is small with respect to the wavelength, the effect of the fluid medium on the solid is as a first approximati...

Approximate transmission conditions for time-harmonic Maxwell equations in a domain with thin layer

We study the behavior of the electromagnetic field in a biological cell modelized by a medium surrounded by a thin layer and embedded in an ambient medium. We derive approximate transmission conditions in order to replace the membrane by these conditions on the boundary of the interior domain. Our approach is essentially geometric and based on a suitable change of variables in the thin layer. F...

Mathematical Study of the Β-plane Model for Rotating Fluids in a Thin Layer Anne-laure Dalibard and Laure Saint-raymond

This article is concerned with an oceanographic model describing the asymptotic behaviour of a rapidly rotating and incompressible fluid with an inhomogeneous rotation vector; the motion takes place in a thin layer. We first exhibit a stationary solution of the system which consists of an interior part and a boundary layer part. The spatial variations of the rotation vector generate strong sing...

A High-order Discontinuous Galerkin Scheme for Elastic Wave Propagation

In this paper, we introduce a fourth-order leap-frog time scheme combined with a high-order discontinuous Galerkin method for the solution of the elastodynamic equations. The time discretization, obtained via a simple construction based on Taylor developments, provides an accurate scheme for the numerical simulation of seismic wave propagation. Results of the propagation of an eigenmode allow a...
